When you think of things to do in a  paradise like the dreamy island of Cozumel, lounging on white sand beaches may come to mind, as would sunset strolls along the seashore. Also, as we learned in our recent trip to the Island, cycling in Cozumel can be the perfect way to soak up the tropical sunshine.

Cozumel is a small island off Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula known for its white sand beaches, lush forests, world class diving and overall relaxed vibe. In addition to all those wonderful things which we can personally vouch for, it is increasingly becoming a cycling destination too.

Island Zen: Travel to Cozumel

If travel to the tropical paradise Mexican island of Cozumel is not already on your bucket list, it should be. The small island delivers a larger than life tropical experience with a laid back islander feel.

Cozumel is located in the Caribbean sea off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The island is mostly undeveloped except for along its coasts and in the town of San Miguel. The majority of tourists arrive by cruise ships and don’t stray too far from the dock, while others languish in the all-inclusive resorts along the west coast of the island.

Unfortunately, this type of travel misses a lot of the highlights and a true experience of the Island’s interesting culture. Cozumel is a worthwhile destination to explore for any length of time and there’s a lot to see outside of the typical all inclusive vacation.

Off the Beaten Track: Coconuts and Cycling in Zanzibar

Travellers know this to be true: there is a special type of satisfaction that comes with feeling like you’ve “discovered” something. Zanzibar is famous for white sand beaches, calm clear waters featuring fishing boats with romantic white sales, and a lush countryside ripe for growing fragrant spices.
